Where's the Music We Don’t Hear?

When a song is “leaked” it usually means that we weren’t supposed to hear it but somehow it gets out and becomes a hit. But then it makes me wonder what happens to the music that we don’t get to hear?

The songs that don’t make the album, the songs that never get released, or even the demo songs that the artists never get to hear. What happens to them? Do they go in some secret vault or in an abyss of songs never to be found or heard? But I think as consumers and fans of music we may be missing out on some really great music. However, how do the artists feel about the music that they have spent time making or recording that never gets heard? We may not know the answer to that but I guess there is a valid reason why not all the music they make is heard. Although, I can’t help to think is there a way to find the “lost” music.

Is anyone up for the challenge? Even if anyone is up to the challenge it seems like there would not be much anyone can do about it because the record label is the ultimate decision maker on what songs get released and what songs don’t get released. The artist usually doesn’t have much say either. So I guess we’ll just have to settle for the songs that we do hear and hope that one day we will be able to hear unreleased music.

The Music Industrys' Rising Stars

Stars are born not made is something that we have all heard, but does that really happen? We have seen artists such as Usher, Celine Dion, and the late Michael Jackson start singing at a young age only to result in becoming a superstar. However, they needed to have a team of people to help them reach that status. So, are they really born or made? I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

Currently there are plenty of rising stars in the industry. Justin Bieber, Mindless Behavior, and the OMG Girlz are young artists creating music that is definitely hot. They are stars but they do get help and will continue to as long as they have their singing career. It will be interesting to see how these artists will grow and develop into adult artists and how they will reach a whole new audience with their music. Let’s sit back and watch the stars shine!

New Music: J Dash and Iggy Azalea

I would like to start with talking about some new, upcoming music artists. I will do my best to bring you up-to-speed on the first Monday of each month about the new artists to grace the music scene and where you can listen to their music.
The first artist is J. Dash who is from Jacksonville, Florida, and he is known as "America’s #1 New Artist". He’s a southern hip-hop artist who raps, writes songs, produces, mixes, and plays multiple instruments. He has a hot new dance song out called “WOP” which is creating a buzz and has been on iTunes Top 100 Hip-Hop Charts and on iTunes Top 200 ALL SONGS Charts. J. Dash’s “WOP” single has also charted on the Billboard TOP 100 R&B/Hip-Hop Song Chart. The music video for “WOP” has been on BET’s 106 & Park and on MTV Jams. Check out J. Dash’s new album that dropped earlier this year entitled, “Tabloid Truth.” For more information on J. Dash and his music check out these links.

The second artist is a female rapper all the way from Australia. Her name is Iggy Azalea and she is creating a lot of buzz in the music industry. She recently signed with Interscope Records and she is also signed with Grand Hustle, T.I.’s label. She currently has a single out called “Murda Bizness” and her debut album, “The New Classic”, will be out this summer. She is sure to bring something different to the music scene. Check out Iggy Azalea on these sites.
